My god!

My god! I can't believe that it's been almost 2 years since i last updated my blog, to be completely honest, that was because no work was being done on dogmatic, she lay in my back garden for a bit, and more recently back in the BLYM workshop. Don't worry, after many months of putting off work she's nearly ready to sail. I'll give you a quick update on what's been going on:

First off, a few months ago, at the end of last year, the first coats were put on the bottom, and now in a rush to see her sailing, we decided against the orange and black/white and instead went fo an all black bottom, sprayed on by a friend and I using automotive paint. She started to come together and after the initial coats she was once again relegated to the boat park until such time as we could finish her.

This time came about last weekend when the cockpit was repaired, all of the holes filled and the structural problems dealt with. After that, the floor received an undercoat of white grip paint, ready to received another once the black was sprayed. The black was then sprayed onto all of the none-floor parts of the cock pit. After she was nearly dry, the bow plate, mast foot and highfield levers were put back on and up went the mast. A quick check to make sure the new sails set and the kit out started.

So far all of the hatch covers have been replaced, and work has started on reconditioning the foils and adding the control lines. We have already talked about the complete harken kit out, and it will all be going on the boat within the next 2-3 weeks.

There is a massive job list before she is completely finished, but the good news is she will be ready to sail within the next month for certain, and she will be completed by the end of the year for certain, but most likely in 2-3 months when there will be no more work to complete.
